Where Anatolian Heritage Meets Modern Majlis Design
At ArabicSofa, every model we create tells a story rooted in culture, craftsmanship, and timeless comfort. The Milas Model is a perfect reflection of this philosophy—bringing centuries-old Anatolian weaving traditions into contemporary majlis and floor seating designs.
The Origin of the Milas Pattern
The Milas pattern originates from the Milas region of Anatolia, an area renowned for its rich textile and weaving heritage. Traditionally hand-woven, Milas motifs are known for their symbolic geometric forms, each representing protection, harmony, and connection to nature.
These patterns were historically used in kilims and rugs crafted for everyday life, ceremonies, and family gatherings—making them a natural fit for majlis seating, where hospitality and togetherness take center stage.
Symbolism in Every Motif
What makes the Milas pattern truly unique is its meaningful geometry. Central medallions symbolize balance and unity, while surrounding angular shapes reflect strength and continuity. The repeated forms create a rhythm that feels both grounding and welcoming.
Earthy tones—such as deep burgundy, warm terracotta, muted teal, and natural ivory—are traditionally derived from organic dyes, giving the pattern its distinctive warmth and authenticity.
Reinterpreted for Modern Living
At ArabicSofa, we reinterpret the Milas pattern with a refined, modern composition. While staying true to its traditional roots, the pattern is carefully balanced to complement contemporary interiors without overwhelming the space.
Whether used in a full majlis layout or as a statement piece, the Milas model offers a seamless blend of heritage and modern elegance.
Designed for Majlis & Floor Seating
The Milas model is especially well-suited for:
